Customs data show that in December 2021, China imported 212,600 tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, with a month-on-month increase of 14.13% and a year-on-year increase of 31.46%. Among them, hot rolled coil imports of 34,800 tons, a decrease of 36.2%, year-on-year growth of 526.6%; Cold rolled coil imports of 30,600 tons, with a decrease of 42.16% from the previous month and 56.86% from the previous year; Semi-finished billets (ingot) imported 147,300 tons, up 86.5% from the previous month and 72.5% from the previous year.
From January to December 2021, China's total import of stainless steel from Indonesia was 2,325,100 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 1,076,700 tons or 86.25%. Among them, the cumulative import of hot rolled coil was 346,900 tons, an increase of 291,000 tons year-on-year, an increase of 515.4%; Cold rolled coil imports totaled 653,000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 312,000 tons or 91.2%; Imports of semi-finished billets (ingot) totaled 1.325 million tons, an increase of 475,000 tons year-on-year or 55.8%.
