What is the difference between stainless steel hot rolled plate and cold rolled plate?

2021-04-07 15:01:08

Hot rolling is the production of strip steel from slab (mainly continuous casting slab) by roughing mill and finishing mill after heating. The hot steel strip from the last finishing mill is cooled to the set temperature by laminar flow, and is rolled into steel strip coil by coiler. The cooled steel strip coil is processed into steel plate, flat coil and longitudinal steel strip products by different finishing lines (leveling, straightening, crosscutting or longitudinal cutting, inspection, weighing, packing and marking, etc.) according to the different needs of users. To put it simply, a billet after heating (that is, the red and hot steel in TV) is refined and rolled several times, then the edge is cut and corrected to become a steel plate, which is called hot rolling.

Cold rolling: hot rolled steel coil is used as raw material, and then the oxide scale is removed by pickling. The finished product is hard rolled coil. Due to the cold work hardening caused by continuous cold deformation, the strength and hardness of hard rolled coil increase, and the toughness and plasticity index decrease. Therefore, the stamping performance will deteriorate, and can only be used for parts with simple deformation. The rolled coil can be used as raw material for hot galvanizing plant, because the hot galvanizing line is equipped with annealing line. In general, the hot rolled coil is pickled continuously at room temperature for 6.5 ~ 13 tons. The inner diameter is 610mm

The difference between hot rolled plate and cold rolled plate can be attributed to the following points:

1. The cold plate is processed by cold rolling, and the surface is free of oxygen and has good quality. The hot plate is processed by hot stamping, with oxide skin on the surface and lower thickness difference.

2. Hot rolled plate has poor toughness and surface smoothness, and its price is low, while cold rolled plate has good extensibility and toughness, but its price is high.

3. Rolling is divided into cold rolling and hot rolling, with recrystallization temperature as the distinguishing point.

 4. Cold rolling: cold rolling is generally used for the production of strip with high rolling speed. Hot rolling: the temperature of hot rolling is close to that of forging

5. The surface of non electroplated hot rolled plate is dark brown, and the surface of non electroplated cold rolled plate is gray. It can be distinguished from the smoothness of the surface after electroplating, and the smoothness of cold rolled plate is higher than that of hot rolled plate.

The above is the difference between stainless steel hot-rolled plate and cold-rolled plate, their difference is very obvious, and easy to distinguish, today's share on these, do not understand the message consultation.
