According to Chinese customs statistics, in December 2021, China's total stainless steel exports of 442,900 tons, a monthly increase of 48,800 tons, an increase of 12.39%, a year-on-year increase of 63,100 tons, an increase of 16.61%; China's total stainless steel imports were 270,400 tons, up 32,500 tons and 13.68% from the previous month, and up 53,100 tons and 24.47% from the previous year. Among them, the total stainless steel imports from Indonesia was 212,600 tons, up 14.13% from the previous month and 31.46% from the previous year.
In 2021, China's stainless steel exports totaled 4.4062 million tons, an increase of 989,400 tons or 28.95% year on year. China's total import of stainless steel was 2,833,800 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 1,028,900 tons and 57.01%, among which, the total import of stainless steel from Indonesia was 2,325,100 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 1,076,700 tons and an increase of 86.25%.
In December 2021, China's total net export of stainless steel was 172,500 tons, with a sequential increase of 16,200 tons and an increase of 10.42%, and a year-on-year increase of 9,900 tons and an increase of 6.11%. In 2021, China's net exports of stainless steel totaled 1,572,300 tons, down 39,500 tons year-on-year or 2.45%.
